What is Generic Conversation
Features shown by the piece of spoken or written mode which allow it to be placed into a specific genre.
What is an Insertion Sequence
Is a series of adjacency pairs. Example: Question 1 Question 2 Answer 2 Answer 1
Things to look for regarding Topic
- overlaps with structure
- who initiates and shifts topics?
- topic loops
- does any participant control and manage the conversation?
What are topic loops
Where one topic of the conversation had ended but is brought back into the conversation again.
What are topic shifts
an utterance is made which changes the topic of conversation
Fluency
1.non-fluency features
2.which speakers are most fluent, why?
3.voiced pauses
4.fillers
5.vague language/completers
6.false starts/self corrections
7.ellipsis
