Lyme disease, Northeast of US, in forest, tick born (ixodes scapularis tick)-lyme disease, erhlichiosis
Life cycles (mouse, then on dear) We are an incidental/dead end host. Wright Stain amd Giemsa stain

Three stages:
stage 1: rash (erythemia chronicamigrains, bullseye rash), flu like symptoms
Stage 2: heart block (myocarditis, bells palsy on both sides of face)
Stage 3: arthritis of large joints (migratory poly), memory neuro stuff

Treatment: early doxycycline, ceftriaxone

Treponema pallidum

Space observatorium:
STI, spirochete, darkfield microscopy + blood tests (VDRL (non trep specific), and confirmatory test FTA-Ab test)

Early stage: Primary (painless genital shanker, eschemic necrosis), Secondary (systemic/ hands and soles rash, condyloma latum (lots of bumps) and darkfield, Tertiary (gummas- soft growths with necrotic center anywhere, aortitis->anuerism )(tabes dorsalis-> demyelination of spinal nerves-> post column, and nonresponsive pupils)

Congenital syphillis-> constellation of symptoms Saber shins, saddle nose, hutchinson teeth and wierd molars, and deafness in babies

Treatment: Penicillin, (for allergic tetracyclines) (lots of LPS fever and chills bc immune response)
