What are Specialised Cells?

A

At first all cells are undifferentiated (the same)

As the organism begins to develop, the cells differentiate by developing different sub-cellular structures.

These cells are now known as specialised cells as they carry out any function in the tissue, organ or whole organism.

Sperm Cell Features

A

Has a flagella for movement.

Many mitochondria to release energy to move to the egg.

Acrosome in the head which contains digestive enzymes to break into the egg.

Contains a haploid (Half of the normal amount of chromosomes.)
