The Process
A
- The parent cell is the only one that is needed.
- Chromosomes makes identical copies of themselves.
- Similar chromosomes will pair up.
- The first division: pairs of chromosomes divide.
- Second Division: Chromosomes divide again.
Each gamete contains 23 chromosomes, as another 23 is needed for fertilisation.
