MDx: subacute/acute ulcerative keratoconjunctivitis
Etiology: Moraxella bovis
Dz: Pink eye
Is this pink eye? If not, what is it?
Not pink eye
Etiology: OHV-2 (malignant cattharal fever)
This infection is a type IV hypersensitivity reaction doesn’t necessarily have ulcers along with keratitis and pink eye will always have ulcers

Pathological process: disorder of growth (with inflammation)
MDx: meibomian gland adenoma (malignant) and keratitis
Cat eyes
MDx? Why is there corneal opacity?
MDx: glaucoma/buphthalmia
Corneal opacity: increased IOP –> causes endothelial cells to come apart –> fluid from aqueous humor into the corneal stroma
[causes: lens luxation, iris attached to cornea or lens, uveitis, hypobion, congenital (goniodysgenesis)

What is this? MDx? Pathological process? Possible DDx? Which breed is this commonly seen in?
Pannus
MDx: chronic superficial keratitis
Pathological process: inflammation and repair
Possible DDx: SCC

MDx: eosinophilic keratitis
Etiology: usually FHV infection
What is this? How is it caused? Is there breed disposition? What condition does this predispose these dogs to?
Cherry eye
Prolapse may occur secondary to weak supportive connective tissues which normally anchor the base of the gland to the ventral orbital rim
Breed disposition: beagle, english bulldog, boston terrier, cocker spaniel, shar pei
These dogs are predisposed to develop keratoconjunctivitis sicca
MDx? Etiologies?
MDx: severe otitis externa
Etiologies: staph, pseudomonas, proteus, malassezia pachydermatis
