DDxs: Reactive hyperplastic lymph node or metastasis of SCC
Actual diagnosis: reactive hyperplastic lymph node that is responding to a tumor
What is this tissue? What is its function?
This is the esophagus of a leatherback sea turtle
Function: facilitate swallowing of prey - prevents regurg

MDx: ileal muscular hypertrophy
Etiology: Anoplocephala perfoliata
(causes thickening of ileum wall, resulting in stenosis of the lumen)

MDx: diffuse granulomatous enteritis
EDx: Mycobacterium enteritis
Etiology: Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis
Dz name: Johne’s disease

MDx: Multifocal hepatic fibrosis
Etiology: Ascaris suum (kidney worm of pigs)
2nd etiology: Stephanurus dentatus
Common/dz name: Milk spotted liver

Etiology: Lawsonia intracellularis

MDx: proliferative ileitis
Will see in older animals
Horse stomach. yuck.
MDx? Etiology? What else would expect to see in a horse with this lesion?
MDx: erosive and ulcerative gastritis
Etiology: Canthardin (found in Alfalfa hay)
Results in colic, enteritis, ulcerative and hemorrhagic uritis, myocarditis
