Etiology? MDx?
Etiology: Histophilus somni
MDx: acute multifocal necrotizing myocarditis
[picture here MDx: chronic multifocal suppurative necrosis and was under H. somni]

MDx? Why does this happen?
MDx: omphalophlebitis and multifocal hepatic abscessation
Remnant of the umbilical vein, which in a month old calf should have given rise to the round ligament of the liver

MDX? Possible etiologies? What other lesions will you see?
MDx: valvular endocarditis
Possible etiologies: strep, staph or truperella pyogenes
Will also see jet lesions
Heart from a 15 y.o. schnauzer
MDx? What disease process is this? What organ would you look at if this was left CHF? Right CHF? Which breed is genetically predisposed? What other lesion would you expect to see?
MDx: Valvular endocardiosis
Dengerative process
Left CHF: look at lungs for heart failure cells and pulmonary edema
Right CHF: look for nutmeg liver - MDX chronic hepatic congestion
Also see jet lesions
Dog stuff
What is this? Where else would you expect to see lesions?
Hemangiosarcoma of the right atrium
Very quickly will metastasize to the lungs, kidneys and intestines
From a horse
Etiology? EDx?
Etiology: strongylus vulgaris
EDx: parasitic arteritis
