SP3g Colour Flashcards
1
Q
When does diffuse reflection occur?
A
when light hits rough surfaces and is scattered in all directions.
2
Q
When does specular reflection occur?
A
when very smooth surfaces, such as mirrors, reflect light evenly.
3
Q
Dispersion? (relating to white light)
A
white light can be split up into the colours of the visible spectrum using a prism.
4
Q
Why are some objects red?
A
they only reflect red light.
5
Q
What makes some objects black?
A
they absorb all visible light.
6
Q
What colour of light has the shortest wavelength/highest frequency?
A
violet.
7
Q
What colour of light has the longest wavelength/lowest frequency?
A
red.
8
Q
Filter?
A
something that only transmits certian colours and absorbs the rest.
