Q

what practicle can you do to investigate how temperature affects solubility

A
  • make a saturated solution by adding ammonium chloride to water at an excess
  • stir and place in water bath
  • check after 5 mins that all excess has sunk and it is 25C
  • weigh empty evepourating basin
  • pour some solution (not the excess) in basin
  • re-weight basin
  • heat gently
  • once evapourated weight pure ammonium chloride
  • repeat at different temperatures and plot graph

Q

what is the equation to calucates soolubitity form the masses of the solid and water
