  6. arrange for gear to be sent to supply and equipment officer
  7. do not wash damaged gear before it is sent for repair
  8. supply and equipment officer will arrange for the element to be sent for repair
  9. repairs will be logged in the PPE management software

  3. light brushing and further rinsing is permitted as required
  4. bunker gear and ensemble elements are to be bagged and placed in an apparatus compartment that is separate from the cab
  5. any equipment that normally is placed within the cab area of the apparatus shall be bagged and placed in a separate compartment
  6. personnel should also consider the removal and bagging of station wear, placing it in a separate compartment

What is the procedure for equipment shut down?(6)

  1. Machine is turned off and stopped moving the main disconnect switch must be opend and locked in the off position.
  2. one the witch has been locked, check to make sure the machine is inoperable
  3. The person responsible tasked for the lock out must permanently fix a tag to the lock
  4. the person responsible tasked with the lockout must retain the key for their lock
  5. the lock can only be removed after all work has been completed
  6. on l the person responsible tasked with the lockout may remove the lock

  1. Attach a lock and tag to all energy isolatin devices, switches and valves
  2. For equipment that cannot be locked out, place a tag close to energy isolating device, and assign personnel with a radio to standby
  3. Only standard BFES devices shall be used
  4. when lockout is used all involved services mush attach their personnel lock to the lockout device
  5. fill out ID tags completely when possible
  6. notify IC and safety officer when lockout is complete

  2. close valves, throw main disconnects and circuit breakers
  3. disconnect auxiliary power sources
  4. never pull a switch under load
  5. never remove a fuse in stead of disconnecting
  6. in flowing liquid/sold applications, ensure that the black outs are performed
  7. eliminate or neutralize energy reactors by use chocks, wedges, blocking devices or elimination of secondary power source where necessary

  1. make sure equipment does not pose a hazard before leaving the scene
  2. notify IC and SO of lockout removal
  3. confirm removal with responsible party
  4. confirm everyone in are that lockout is being removed
  5. each device must be removed by the person that put it on
  6. responsible party will apply their own lock before BFES lock is removed
  7. For elevator rescues, if there is no one available to had over the scene too and the room is lockable, remove the lockout device and replace these with a zip tie tied in the off position
