What is the Mughals social structure?
Mughal Empire
Provinces
Districts
Small groups of Villages and Towns
Individual Communites Of Peasant Farmers
What does the Emporer do?
He was in charge of protecting the state and expanding the empire. They also had to manage the wealth.
The Emperor was suppose to be “Gods representative on Earth”
What does the Nawabs do?
The Nawabs each rule a province. They were born into their title. Nawabs were Muslim and would communicate the emperors orders
What do the Zamindars do?
The Provinces were divided into districts, each district was further divided into Reigons. Those regions were ruled by Zamindar. The Zamindars would inheret land and give that land to farmers in return for tax.
Peasants
Out of the peasants the farmers and artisens were highly regarded. The farmers had a fair amount of wealth. THey could own land but they would have to pay taxes
Women and Family
The Mughal empire wasnt as nice to women than men and they would normally have to stay at home and would have to care for the house and family. The most that they could become is a farmer
