Brahman - the universal soul
everything is part of this soul

Atman - Individual souls
every living thing has one, comes from brahman but are separate like a drop in the ocean, souls are reincarnated after death

Karma - Actions
Good karma brings good fortune, bad karma brings bad fortune
Hinduism: core beliefs : Moksha
Moksha - return to Brahman
Moksha means liberation
This is the ultimate goal, to break the cycle of reincarnation, and to reconnect with Brahman.

Dharma - Duty
Every living being must do what they are predestined to do, and do this well eg, farmer must farm
If dharma is not followed, bad things would happen to everyone.
Hinduism: Caste System
Ensures that everyone follows their dharma.
The caste system is represented with Brahmas body.
Nearly impossible to switch classes.
4 Ways to Achieve Nirvana
- Suffering is an unavoidable reality in human life
- The source of suffering is craving or desire, and the bad karma that it creates
- To stop suffering, stop desiring
- The eightfold path can take someone to the end of suffering – Nirvana –
where they are no longer constantly reincarnated after death
Buddism History
Over years, buddism spread through asia through trade networks, and variated. Buddha was not and did not want to be worshiped like a god.
Buddha is not fat, it is a chinese monk named Budai.
