-Undue influence of a public official with fellow public servants and clients to perform acts that violate rules and regulations
Persuading
-Employment of family members in an enterprise where the government/agencies have direct transactions
Conflict of Interest
-Government officials particularly those occupying high positions tend to cause the appointment or employment of relatives and close friends to government positions even if they are not qualified or eligible to discharge the functions of that office
Nepotism and Favoritism
-Issuance of permits, licenses or grants
Injury or Liability
-Any transactions that require influence on board or group of approving officials
-Sometimes referred to as trading in influence, this activity occurs when a business employee gives payments, undue advantage or expensive gifts to a public official, expecting to receive an undue advantage from the public authority in return
Influence Peddling
-This happens when a business employee offers or receives a bribe in exchange for confidential information, where the bribe could take a number of different forms
-When confidential information is the basis for trading in a company’s stock, bonds or other securities, this constitutes an offence called “insider trading”
