This is a profit making business that trades in goods or services for a social purpose. It is doing something which helps a social cause, such as:-
• People
• The environment 
• Animals
• Your community

What’s a cooperative?

Firms owned, controlled, and operated by a group of people who share the same goals. Each member contributes capital and shares in the control of the firm on the basis of one- member, one-vote principle (and not in proportion to his or her capital contribution).
There are two types of co-operative: workers so-operative and consumer co-operative.
