European Unions Flashcards
1
Q
What are the the impacts of European Unions?
A
Free trade between countries that belong to the EU, which means no barriers to trade
such as tariffs. This makes it easier for UK businesses to export to countries belonging to the EU and cheaper to import from countries belonging to the EU.
• Free movement of labour: workers from one EU country are allowed to work in any other EU countries. This provides a larger potential workforce for UK businesses.
• People and businesses are affected by EU laws.
Many of the countries in the EU (those countries are called the ‘Eurozone’) use the same currency, which is called the euro.
