What is the difference between empathy and sympathy?
Sympathy is feeling the emotions for characters but not sharing the same emotions. You can feel sorry or embarrassed for another but it is different from empathy because you do not feel the same for the other
What is identification in social cognition with characters?
Emotional and cognitive process whereby a viewer takes on the role of a character in a narrative
What is wishful identification in social cognition with characters?
When a viewer wants to be like the character experiences an active “desire to emulate the figure”, and looks up to the character
What is par asocial identification in social cognition with characters?
The seeming face-to-face relationship between spectator and performer
What is entertainment-education?
A way of informing the public about a social issue or concern, by incorporating an educational message into (popular) entertainment content in order to raise awareness, increase knowledge, create favorable attitudes, and ultimately motivate people to take socially responsible action in their own lives.
What is shot-scale?
is a common used term to describe the distance of the camera to the main subject of the shot.
