What do you need to take into consideration when choosing a method of training?
The requirements of the particular sport, the local facilities, individual needs and current levels of fitness.
What is continuous training?
Working your body for long periods of time without any rest.
What is fartlek training?
Periods of work followed by periods of rest or lighter work.
What is Circuit training?
A series of exercises completed for a certain amount of time/reps, after one another in a circuit.
What is Interval training?
Physical training involving alternating stages of high and low-intensity activity.
What is plyometric training?
Exercises in which muscles exert maximum force in short intervals of time.
What is Weight training?
Involves shifting weight to increase the strength of the muscle using a programme of exercises.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of continuous training?
- Can Improve cardiovascular fitness
- Could increase risk of injury
