What’s the definition of Cardiovascular Fitness?
The ability to exercise your whole body for long periods of time.
What is Muscular Strength?
The amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance.
What’s the definition of Muscular Endurance?
The ability to use voluntary muscles repeatedly without getting tired.
What’s the definition of flexibility?
The range of motion of your joints.
How will flexibility impact your performance?
Less likely to get injured, execute skills more efficiently.
What’s the definition of Body Composition?
The percentage or body weight that is muscle, fat or bone.
Why is it important to have a healthy BMI?
It’s important because if somebody has a poor BMI they strain their muscles and makes you more prone to injuries and diseases like diabetes.
In order or relevance outline which HRC of fitness are most important for a football player (Winger)?
- Flexibility - to be able to skillfully take on defenders and so they won’t cramp up because they are playing for 90 minutes.
- Body Composition - so they are light and fast so they can accelerate past defenders and create chances.
- Cardiovascular Fitness - so the winger can keep taking the defender on throughout the whole game performing at the same level.
- Muscular Endurance - So they can keep playing without cramping up or pulling muscles as they are constantly changing speed and direction.
- Muscular Strength - To shrug off defenders in tight scenarios.
