What is methods of training
A number of training methods can be used to improve
fitness. Each designed for a specific purpose, to
improve a specific component of fitness
Types of methods of training

What does Fartlek mean
Speedplay
What is fartlek
Fartlek training originated in Sweden. The word
‘fartlek’ is a combination of the two Swedish works for
‘speed’ and ’play’
What is circuit training
Circuit training involves a number of exercises
arranged so as to avoid exercising the same muscle
groups consecutively. For example, a press-up station
could be followed by a step-up station.
What is interval training
The aim of interval training is to have a high-intensity,
high-quality workout always done at a fast pace
What is plyometrics
Plyometrics are exercises in which muscles exert
maximum force in short intervals of time
What is weight training
Weight training uses progressive resistance either in
the form of actual weight lifted or in terms of the
number of times the weight is lifted

Advantages of fitnes classes
Many people attend fitness classes at their gym or at a
club. Like all training methods fitness classes have
advantages and disadvantages
Disadvantages of fitness classes
Some classes are expensive or involved lump payments
in advanced. Some classes are far away and transport
may be difficult. Sometimes classes are on at the wrong
time
What is fartlek
Like interval training it includes periods of work
followed by periods of rest or light work. However,
sessions include sprints of varying distances not
necessarily measured distances as in interval training.

Continuous training is steady training. Your WHR will
not be very high but will be in the target zone for
aerobic fitness
What is circuit
Circuit training involves a number of exercises

breathing, relaxation and stress reduction

Ancient form of exercise that focuses on

Aerobic and anaerobic cycling on a stationary
bike to music
