“In God we trust” was put in federal buildings, courts and on money as a strategy to combat the spread of communism in the United States. It was started on October 1, 1957.

The reason for it was the United States was so terrified that our government would be overthrown and America would become a communist nation. These fears were from all the Eastern Nations turning into communist nations in the decade after the end of WWII.

The pledge of allegiance started in schools in 1954 for the same reason.

Some Historical Despicable church actions

REF: Religion and science: Bertrand Russell

1600 Giordano Bruno after seven years in prison was burned alive for his claim that Earth rotated daily and the Sun did not rise and fall daily while it circled the Earth. Thinking the Earth moved was forbidden until 1835!

His friend, Galileo was tortured and imprisioned for believing the Earth was not the “Center” of the universe. After several trips to the moon, the Catholic church officially apologized, 290 years later!

Galileo was forbidden to see family and friends and was placed under house arrest for years.

1600 Church rejected astronomy as heresy but paid astrology writers to write horoscopes for the king

[MN: Theology is organized ignorance.]

Galileo’s telescope led to discovery of Sun spots. The Catholic church thought that God’s work cannot have blemishes and therefore Catholic teachers were forbidden to even mention sun spots for centuries.

J.P. Morgan’s father thought that electric lamps were of the devil! REF: History Channel.

1673 Comets are moved by angels. father Augustine de Angelis in Rome.

4004 BCE is the date of creation of the universe set by Archbishop Usher.

1590Jesuit Joseph Acosta writes book questioning church theology that all the different animals discovered in the new world were brought there by sailors, or walked and swam there from Mt. Ararat. Lions foxes, tigers, wolves, sloths and Kangaroos! Why had all these animals traveled to the other side of Earth and not a single pair remained behind?

Historical Despicable Church actions

The Catholic Church hated Jews. They reasoned the Jews killed the Christ, therefore the church put bounties on them and fully supported hunting them down and exterminated as many as they could. During WWII this totaled roughly 14 Million Jews killed. 6 Million of those were killed in Hitler’s concentration camps. These hunts and rewards of bounties were called “Pogroms”12 October 1941, Bloody Sunday Pogrom: 10 to 12,000 Jewish men, women and children executed by shooting Germans and Ukrainian police. 16th and 17th Centuries: Burning Witches at the stake 200,000 people were burned at the stake for witchcraft during this time. Burning was believed to cleanse the soul, tantamount for those accused of witchcraft or heresy.//[MN: Not all of these innocent people were victims of the church, but the church did push it heavily back in the day. Back then, when people were sick, they looked for evil spirits that were causing the sickness. Anybody with a wart, even freckles, or if they were disliked were considered a witch. 200,000 innocent women murdered brutally for no good reason. The only reason was ignorance and superstition.]

Spanish Inquisition Started 1478 and lasted about 325 years. Death tolls are all over the board but most reliable sources average 4,000 deaths.

Queen Mary:274 burnings at the stake. This is why she is called “Bloody Mary”. The victims were burned mostly for being Protestant. Also she burned the Catholic people who went to mass that was spoken in English. She believed that the mass had to be in Latin or else you were a heretic.

The number of burnings range up to over 800 by some sources.

Constantine rejects triune Jesus on his deathbed. Ref. Persecution of Jews doc.

Simony: Buying church positions or giving them away to family/friends. This was very common during the Middle ages.

“Expectancy” is the name given to someone who is expecting to hold a church high position for a price or a favor. Expectancy positions were common in the Middle ages. Especially for relatives, mainly children of a Bishop or Pope.

“Faith is a weasel word”. Can you think of anything that is real that you need faith for? Do you need faith that the Sun will come up tomorrow?

Faith has no basis in objective reality.

Same thing for “Thou shall not temp thy God.” They put that in there to weasel their way out of unanswered prayers. That and saying God works in mysterious way. [This is not in the Bible btw.]

Shameful things church did.

Ref: Sunday morning, Oct 1, 2017.

Dan Brown, Author of “Davinci code”

When book came out Catholic church scrambled telling congregations book was heresy and not to read it.

Dan Brown grew up Catholic and as a young boy he asked his priest, “He was hearing all about evolution but the church taught him Garden of Eden creation.” “Is evolution true?”

The priest told young Dan Brown, “Good boys don’t ask such questions.” This is classic delusion by the priests. 1950 Vatican admitted evolution was true!
