- compressed tissue becomes swollen and painful

- lateral ankle sprain
- overuse injury, overpronation

Diagnosis
A
- pain present upon palpation of lateral sinus tarsi opening
- pain is more severe in morning and improves as patient warms up
- swelling in area
- pain upon passive inversion and eversion

Treatment
A
- management of biomechancical factors
- corticosteroid injection
- Mobilisation of subtalar joint
- NSAIDs and rest
- Ankle compression
