A
-Neuropathic pain, long lasting pain that is out of proportion to underlying cause

Type 1 -occurs without peripheral nerve damage Type 2 -occurs in the context of damage/trauma to peripheral nerves Warm and Cold CRPS -Vasodilation and vasoconstriction

Main Signs and symptoms
A
Pain -Regional -Long lasting -Hyperalgesia -Allodynia Functional impairment -Weakness -Reduced ROM

Treatment
A
- Prevention through mobilization post injury
- Pt awareness of condition, its real but no damage
- Psychologist
- Physical therapy, keep function of affected limb
- Medication for pain
- CRPS type 2 see neurological specialist

- Infection
- DVT
- Fibromyalgia
- Other autoimmune conditions

Etiology and risk factors
A
- Often distal and following an injury or trauma event
- Hx Fractures most common
- Genetic predisposition
- 40-70 years of age
