what is Hallux limitus/regidus?
A
- Reduced 1 MPJ of ROM due to exostoses or OA
- functional: present in WB in RCSP
- Structural: present in WB and NWB

Signs and symptoms?
A
- Deep aching pain aggravated by forefoot WB
- Reduced ROM stiffness
- Uncomfortable bump on 1st MPJ

Diagnosis?
A
- palpation on area, check both sides, feel for exostosis
- radiology- X-ray

Treatment?
A
- Rocker sole shoes
- Orthoses with mortons extension (want stiffness)
- carbon plate cut out in footwear
- Surgery, last resort when less than 50 deg of DF
