Controls and Brief Approach
At T.O.D.
PM - Accomplish In range flows then
PF - “In Range Checklist”
Aircraft Configuration Change #2
PF - “Flaps 8, Bug 200”
PM - Set Flaps 8, Bug 200 kts
At Base Leg or procedure turn
PF - “Flaps 20, Bug Vt”
PM - Set Flaps 20, Bug Vt Speed
After Flaps 20, Bug Vt
PM - Verify green needles
PF
“LOC Captured”
Note: PF reads FMA changes
When cleared to join the localizer…….
PF - Will select NAV mode or call for PM to select NAV mode.
PF will state “NAV Armed”
When cleared for the approach….
PF will select APPR mode, or call for PM to select APPR mode.
PF will state “APPR Armed”
Once the glide slope is captured
PF - “Glideslope Captured,” then “Gear Down, Bug Vref For Flaps 20, Before Landing Checklist, Set Missed Approach Alt”
PM - Put Gear Down, Bug Vref For Flaps 20, Set missed approach altitude and Complete Before Landing Checklist’
Verify……
Final approach fix, crossing altitude, and check for flags
Once inside the Final Approach Fix
PM - “1000’ above DA”
After 1000’ callout
PM - “500’ above DA”
