Shock Flashcards
What is shock?
Life-threatening circulatory disorder that leads to tissue hypoxia and a disturbance in microcirculation
What are the 5 types of shock?
Septic Anaphylactic Cardiogenic Hypovolvemic Haemorrhagic
What are the stages of shock?
(Non-progressive stage) Compensatory neurohormonal reflexes, peripheral vasoconstriction, tachycardia, oliguria
(Progressive stage) Worsening hypotension, anerobic respiration, formation of micro thrombi due to stasis of blood
(Irreversible phase) Irreversible tissues damage, end result of multiple organ failure
Describe the cardiac output, HR, central venous pressure (pressure of vena cava), pulmonary capillary wedge pressure, left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP), mixed venous oxygen saturation for hypovolemic shock
