Shock Flashcards
1
Q
What is definition of Shock?
A
Shock is decrease blood flow to tissues
2
Q
What are different types of shock?
A
Haemorrhagic
Anaphylactic
Neurogenic
Septic
Cardiogenic
3
Q
What is hemorrhagic shock?
A
It is a COLD SHOCK
Cold shock due to ruptured vessel causing blood loss
4
Q
What is cardiogenic shock?
A
It is a COLD SHOCK
Due to ischemia heart will have damaged muscle making less blood is pumped.
5
Q
What is septic shock?
A
It is a WARM SHOCK
Endotoxins cause low perfusion, wide spread vasoconstriction + low resistance meaning blood moves too fast to unload oxygen.
6
Q
Anaphylactic shock?
A
Allergic reaction causing low blood pressure.
7
Q
Neurogenic shock?
A
Damaged central nervous system causing low blood pressure.
