Definition of Peripheral vascular disease?
A
Caused by atherosclerosis in limb arteries.
Caused by embolism in artery
Caused by arteries constricting
So when the above happens it means less blood reaches muscle tissue, meaning less oxygen causing ischemia. These ischemic cells release adenosine which signal the nerves that theres pain. This is known as claudication.
