Hitler was born in 1889 in Austria
At the age of 15 where did he move to?
Vienna
What was Hitler’s involvement in WWI?
He fought for German. He was decorated 3 times for his bravery including the iron cross first class.
What was the name of the politic party that Hitler joined after WWI?
In 1919 Hitler joined the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. He soon became its leader.
What was the name of the private army Hitler set up?
The stormtroopers or brownshirts
Why was Hitler imprisoned?
He tried to stage a revolution in Munich in 1923
What was the name of the book Hitler wrote while in prison?
Mein Kampf

1) Germans are a master race and should rule the world.
2) All german speakers should unite to form a greater Germany.
3) Germany should take over Eastern Europe and Russia to create the living space required by the master race.
4) Jews and communists were Germany’s enemies and should be destroyed.

Give 3 reasons why Hitler came to power.
1) Germans detested the Treaty of Versailles. The Weimar Republic did nothing to reject it.
2) After the Wall Street crash unemployment and inflation were high. The Weimar Republic had no solutions to this.
3) Many rich Germans didn’t like communism and supported the stormtroopers attacking communist meeting.
What was the enabling act?
In 1933 Hitler passed the enabling act. This enabled Hitler to rule without a parliament.
How did Hitler use the media?
Hitler used the media as a medium for propaganda.
What was Der Führer?
The name given to Hitler (The Leader)
