Superficial part
Deep part

Where is the superficial part of the submandibular gland located?
Inferior to posterior half of mandible
Superficial to mylohyoid muscle
Where is the deep part of the submandibular gland located?
Hooks around the posterior marhin of the mylohyoid muscle, to become deep to it
Superficial to lateral surface of hypoglossus muscle
What carries secretions from the submandibular gland to the oral cavity?
Submandibular duct
Where does the submandibular duct arise?
Deep part of submandibular gland
Where does the submandibular duct end?
Sublingual papilla has openings in it
it is located laterally to the lingual frenulum
What are the smallest salivary glands?
Sublingual glands
Where are the sublingual glands located?
Underneath the tongue
Medial to anterior half of mandible
What passes medially to the sublingual glands?
Submandbular duct
How are the two sublingual glands related each other?
Anterior they join together
to form a horseshoe-shaped single mass
What are the two sublingual glands visible as?
Sublingual folds on floor of oral cavity
What carries the secretions of the sublingual glands to the oral cavity?
Minor sublingual ducts
