Salbutamol stimulates beta-adrenergic receptors, acting as a rapid bronchodilator

5mg in 2.5ml polyamp
Salbutamol: Dose
In Asthma
In mild/moderate asthma:
AD: Salbutamol 4-12doses pMDI/spacer repeat @ 20/60 or Salbutamol 10mg, repeat 5mg @ 5/60
PD >6y: Salbutamol 4-12doses pMDI/spacer once only
PD 2-6y: Salbutamol 2-6doses pMDI/spacer once only
In severe asthma:
AD: Salbutamol 10mg +IB 500mcg, repeat 5mg @ 5/60
PD 12-16y: Salbutamol 5mg +IB 250mcg, repeat Salb @ 20/60
PD 5-11y: Salbutamol 2.5-5mg +IB 250mcg, repeat Salb @ 20/60
PD 2-4y: Salbutamol 2.5mg +IB 250mcg, repeat Salb @ 20/60
In critical asthma:
AD: Salbutamol 10mg +IB 500mcg +Ad 500mcg, repeat Salb 5mg @ 5/60 no max, repeat Ad @5/60 max 1.5mg
PD 2-16y: Salbutamol 10mg +IB 250mcg +Ad 10mcg/kg, repeat Salb 5mg @ 5/60 no max, repeat Ad @5-10/60 max 30mcg/kg
