Precautions: (FACE-LMA) # F: facial trauma, rhinitis, rhinorrhoea # A: opioid addiction # C: COPD / respiratory depression # E: elderly / frail patients
# L: liver impairment # M: monoamine oxidase inhibitors (anti-depressants) # A: current asthma

A synthetic opioid analgesic used in relieving pain and severe headache, especially where a short duration of action is desirable or where hypotension, nausea and or vomiting are present.
