A1 is out of bounds attempting a throw-in. The ball is touched by A2 and then goes into back court. A2 goes and retrieves the ball. Is this legal?

Question 5

Team B is entitled to a thrown in under the alternating possession arrow. An official or official scorer makes an error and the ball is erroneously awarded to Team A. What is the ruling?

Once the ball touches or is touched by an inbounds player, the situation cannot be corrected because the throw in has ended. Team B will not lose the arrow though and should get the ball on the next possession arrow play. Case book AR 166 pg 55. Rule 7.6.13. Pg 74
