B1 is fouled by A1 during a shot attempt and at the same time B3 throws A2 to the floor in an attempt to get rebound positioning. Two whistles on the play and it is determined after consulting with each other that both fouls occurred at the same time and will be penalized. How do the officials proceed?
B1 will shoot the foul shots for the shot attempt and the shot attempt will count if it went in. There will be no players on the line during the free throws. A2 will then shoot two free throws for the Flagrant 1 foul against B3 with no players on the line. Team A will then get the ball for a throw in nearest the point where B3 threw A2 to the floor. 10.17 penalty – section F pg 88
A1, the ball handler, swings her elbow and hits B1 in the face, knocking B1 to the floor. Referee #1 blows her/his whistle. Clearly after the whistle has blown, but before referee #1 reports anything to the table, B2 tells A1 she’s a bitch and pushes her. Referee #2 calls a technical foul on B2. What is the proper procedures at this point?
The referees confer and determine the technical foul on B2 is a dead ball contact technical. B1 shoots 2 free throws for the Flagrant 1 on A1 with no players on the line. Any player on Team A then shoots two free throws for the Dead ball contact Technical foul on B2. Team A then inbounds the ball at the POI. 10.3.1.c. Penalties on pg 93

When a physical confrontation has occurred, the officials shall determine who was involved in the fight and who left the bench area to participate.

During live ball, an individual strikes an opponent with the hand, elbow, arm, foot, knee or leg in a non-confrontational manner, but it is excessive and severe or extreme, it will be ruled an F2 personal, but not a fight.
