Identify the drivers licence types:
Learners License
Restricted License
Fill license
List the basic conditions of a learners license:
- Must be accompanied by a supervisor in front seat with 2+ years full license
- Must carry learner license
- Must display L plates
List the basic conditions of a restricted license:
- Can’t drive between 10pm and 5am unless accompanied by a supervisor
- Can’t carry passengers unless supervisor is present OR Driving spouse incl. Dependants
- Produce license when demanded
What is the time limit for Learner and a restricted licenses?
5 Years
What is an explanation and example of Inconsiderate driving:
Driving that includes inattention and thoughtless actions which are inconsiderate to other drivers.
E.G
- Driving at slow speeds
- Not taking reasonable stops to allow a line of following vehicles to pass
What is an explanation and example of Careless driving?
Falling below the driving standards of a reasonable prudent motorist
e.g
Indicating left , changing your mind and immediately turning right into the path of an over taking car
- Colliding with a correctly parked car while travelling along a street
What is an explanation and example of dangerous driving:
Driving in a manner or speed which was or might have been dangerous to anyone
e. g:
- Pulling out to overtake in the face of oncoming traffic
- Travelling at 80km in a 50km zone at 8:30am on a school road
Give an example and explanation of Reckless driving:
- Knowingly disregarding one’s duty as a driver
- Deliberately running an unjustifiable risk of injury or collision
e. g
- Knowing trying to outrun a police car at night and turning off headlights
- Driving through a stop sign at 80-100kms that the driver knows of and wouldn’t be able to stop even if they wanted to

Explain section 114 of the Land Transport Act 1998
Only for enforcement of LTA. Not a general stopping power
An officer, in uniform (Or hat) can signal a driver to pull over or use lights/Sound siren and demand the driver state:
- Name, Address, DOB, Occupation, Phone
- Wether they are the owner
- If not the owner: The name and address of the owner
Arrest if:
- Fails to stop
- Refuses to supply details
- Supply’s details that I have GCTS are false
Explain section 113 of the Land Transport Act 1998
General roadway powers. Includes asking a passenger for details if necessary (Law has been broken)

Direct: a person to give

- Information to identify the driver or person in charge of vehicle

- if it is causing obstruction to road or property entrance

- A person operating a transport service without license to not do so

Explain Section 115 of the Land and Transport act 1998:
This power allows an enforcement officer to prohibit vehicles from being driven on a road if you have RGTB a vehicle fails to comply with regulations.
116 Gives me the power to arrest if somebody fails to comply with directions under 115
Explain section 121 of the Land and transport act:
RGTB that a driver is:
- Impaired (Physical mental condition)
- Has failed a Compulsory impairment test
- Refuses to do a CIT
I can carry out FARMED
- Forbid the person to drive for a specified Time
- All keys to be surrendered
- Render the vehicle immobile
- Move the vehicle if causing obstruction
- EBA offenders forbidden to drive for a 12 hour period
- Direct the person to drive to a specific place to rest if the exceed their driving hours (Trucky etc)
Explain the purpose and explanation of Section 118 Land Transport Act 1998
Officer may require and owner or hirer of any vehicle to give, within 14 days, all information available which may lead to:
- Identification and apprehension if the driver has committed any offence against any act while operating the vehicle
- The above regarding the passenger if they have commuted/aided/avoided arrest in or through the use of the vehicle.
The person must have been the owner at the time of offence and the info required must be within the owners ability to supply
