Actions taken during Freeze of FCP
Freeze the scene so that it remains in the condition in which it was found
Actions taken during Control part of FCP
Control people at the scene and those attempting to leave or arrive
Example: Creating a CAP (Common approach path)
Actions taken during preserve part of FCP
Preserve any evidence (Exhibits) that may be destroyed or start to decay in some way
What is the Acronym UNBENT in relation to being a Scene Guard
U - Un- Authorised entry N - Notebook recording B - Brief authorised people E - Explore and Report suspicious activities N - No contaminating it yourself T - Think of the animals
What information should I consider on-route to a scene
1) Obtain description of the suspect, their vehicle, direction of travel and weapons that they may be carrying
2) Watch for vehicles coming to and from the scene
3) Plan where to park your vehicle. Set up a safe forward point
4) Plan initial actions upon arrival
