A
- work related accidents causing death

what are the 9 types of injury that an employer must report under RIDDOR?
A
- all deaths to workers and non-workers if they come from a work related incident
- a fracture, other than to fingers, thumbs and toes
- amputation of an arm, hand, finger, thumb, leg or toe
- crush injuries leading to internal organ damage
- permanent loss/ reduction of sight
- scalpings
- unconsciousness caused by a head injury or asphyxia
- serious burns
- any other injury arising from working in an enclosed space, which leads to hypothermia, heat inducted illness or requires resuscitation or admittance to hospital for more than 24 hours

- carpal tunnel syndrome
- severe cramp of hand or forearm
- occupational dermatitis
- hand-arm vibration syndrome
- occupational asthma
- tendonitis or tenosynovitis of the hand or forearm
- any occupational cancer
- any disease attributed to occupational exposure to a biological agent

A
- general (incidents occurring at any workplace)
- incidents occurring at any place other than an offshore workplace
- incidents occurring at specific types of workplace

what are the recording requirements under RIDDOR?
A
- you should keep records of any accident, occupational disease or dangerous occurrence which requires reporting under RIDDOR
- you should keep records of any other occupational accident causing injuries that result in a worker being away from work for more than 3 days
- you don’t have to report over 3 day injuries unless the incapacitation exceeds 7 days
