whats the main purpose of the tofflemire?
restore anatomic proximal contours and contact areas
what does the wedge against the matrix band do?
compresses matrix band agaisnt tooth to create tighter seal preventing gingival overhang, provides a slight separation between teeth.
why should you burnish the matrix band?
to achieve a contour that facilitates the restoration.
smaller diameter side of matrix band should face where?
gingivally
the open mouth of the head of the tofflemire should face where?
gingivally
the band should extend ____mm coronal to the cavocsurface of the prep?
1.5-2
