What are the lungs a derivative of?

A

Derivative of the foregut. Outpouching of oesophagus.
This forms a respiratory diverticulum with lung buds.
5th week —> Lungs buds enlarge to form left and right main bronchi.

A

A

Because they miss the dramatic increase pre-birth/the beginning of surfactant production at 34 weeks.
