What do seminal vesicles secrete?
- alkaline fluid to help neutralize male urethra and vagina
- fluid rich in sugar for energy for sperm
- prostaglandins -stimulate muscular contractions in female to propel sperm forward
What fluid does Bulbourethral (Cowper’s) glands produce?
-alkaline fluid to protect sperm from acidic urethra and lubricate penis
What hormone does the hypothalamus release related to male and female repro system and then what happens?
-hypothalamus releases GnRH which tells anterior pituitary to release FSH and LH
What does FSH do for male repro?
initiates spermatogenesis
What does LH do for male repro?
stimulate testes to produce testosterone
What are alveolar glands?
w/in mammary glands and make milk when simulated by prolactin

What is dysmenorrhea?
Condition with severe menstrual cramps limiting normal activities; very common

What are fibroids?
benign tumors in uterine wall

breast cancer
What population usually gets uterine (endometrial) cancer?
- post-menopausal women
- hard to detect and very painful
- 6% of cancer deaths in women

psychogenic erection - will feel erection bc info travels from brain > SC > organs
