Travel on the outer border of the renal pyramid, between the medulla and cortex

Travel from the outer border of the renal pyramid towards the outer cortex

Mirrors arteries supplying kidneys

Left gonadal vein - ovarian or testicular

Travels through the angle between the superior mesenteric artery anteriorly and the abdominal aorta posteriorly

Gives off afferent arterioles
Where do the afferent arterioles travel?
Towards Bowman’s capsule of nephron
What do the afferent arterioles do in Bowman’s capsule?
Give off glomerular capillaries
What do the glomeruluar capillaries do in Bowman’s capsule?
Form a tuft, called the glomerulus
What do the glomerular capillaries join together to form?
Efferent arteriole
What does the efferent arteriole do?
Gives off peritubular capillaries
Where do the peritubular capillaries travel?
Surround the tubules of the nephron
What do the pertubular capillaries join together to form?
Interlobular vein
