Q

Give three examples for each category of the just war theory

A

1) jus ad bellum -only a legitimate authority can start war -violence is last resort after peaceful means have failed -the war must be thought with right intention
2) jus in bello-war fought against enemy soldiers and civilians protected-minimum violence used to prevent unnecessary death-force used should be proportional to the wrong that has been done
3) jus post bellum-no revenge taken-war ended if clear it cannot be one-peace terms must be made and accepted by legitimate authority
