What does the sanctity of life mean?
Means that all human life is sacred or holy it is a gift from God – when life begins
What does the quality of life mean?
Refers to how good or bad someone’s life is
Give three things Christians believe about human life?

3) Believe that God has given their lives to them so it’s their responsibility to take care of themselves and of others

Deliberately destroying/removing foetus/embryo

Conception

Against – life begins at conception so all abortion is murder
What is the law of double effect? (Roman catholic)
It’s doing something morally good has a more really bad side-effects it is right to do it providing the bad side-effect was not intended even though it was known.
What can the law of the double affect be used to justify?
Abortion
What is a Baptists view on abortion?
It is wrong but they recognise that taking life may be the lesser of two evils
What does pro-choice mean?
Belief that women should get to you is what happens to her own body
What is pro-life?
Belief that the on born child has a right to life and not to be killed
