I think/I believe that religion is a mechanism used by governments to impose rules or obligations on society through fear (such as hell or eternal damnation) and through the promise of a better life after death (such as heaven or reincarnation).
Pienso que la religión es un mecanismo que utilizan los gobiernos para imponerle reglas u obligaciones a la sociedad a través del miedo (como el infierno o el castigo eterno) o a través de la promesa de una vida mejor después de la muerte (como el paraíso o la reencarnación).
