Autonomic dysreflexia
A
Noxious stimuli below level of spinal lesion causes response- vasodilation above injury and constriction below.
Can cause severely elevated blood pressure, underlying cause must be treated

Failure to store (decreased compliance or hyperreflexia)
Failure to empty: areflexia or hypo contractility

Disability: when impairment interferes with functioning

What are some complications of prolonged immobility?
A
- MSK: contracture a
- Cardiovascular: orthostatic hypotension, DVT
- GU: infection
- Resp: decreased pulmonary function
- GI: decreased appetite
- Neuro: compression neuropathies
