Resting tremor
A
Movement that is present at rest, stillness. May be attenuated with activity.
Can be seen in both disease and syndromes

Postural tremor
A
Exaggeration of a normal motion or pattern, ie. Trembling while holding hands out.
Can be familial, causes by thyroid, lithium, valproate
Worsens with age

Intention tremor
A
Tremor worsening with action, particularly at the end point
Related to cerebellar pathology so may have other findings associated

What is the clinical triad of Parkinson’s disease?
A
Rigidity of the limbs
Tremor
Bradykinesia
(Gait instability)
