Q

Regulation of breathing sequence

A

Receptors detect changes
These inform the RCC which controls the IC and EC
The IC increases the stimulation of the phrenic and intercostal nerves so the diaphragm and intercostal contract with more force. This also stimulates the additional muscles to contract.
Volume of chest cavity increase, pressure drops, air rushes in

Q

External respiration At lungs

A

O2 moves from alveoli to capillaries

Q

Internal respiration (at muscles)

A
Happens at muscles
Between muscles and capillaries
O2 moves from capillaries to muscles
C02 moves from muscles to lungs
Higher pp then diffusion
