A

Excess Post Oxygen Consumption
Also known as oxygen debt and represents the volume of oxygen required post exercise to return back top pre-exercise state

A

Fast alactacid component of recovery (before latic acid)
Accounts for 10% of EPOC

A

Completes the initial jobs to return body back to pre-exercise state
-replenishment of blood and muscle oxygen
-resynthesis of ATP and PC stores

A

Within first minute of EPOC, oxygen resaturates blood stream associating with haemoglobin and within 3 minutes restoring oxy-myoglobin link
