Step 1:how begin preparation for reconciliation
prayer and examination of conscience
an examination of conscience is
the review of our lives since the last we time we got confession and all the things that did not listen to god’s wants
Step 2:when you enter a confessional you
make a sign of the cross and say “in the name of the father, and of the son, and the holy spirit. amen. bless me father for ihave sinned. it has been ______ since my last time confession
Step 3 is to
confession your sin
a venial sin is a
small sin
a mortal sin is
serious sin
in step 4 the priest gives
words of comfort and aadvice
in step 5 the priest gives
a penance(action that makes your sins right)
in step 6 the priest will ask you to pray an act of contrition which is
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You, and I detest all my sins, because of Your just punishments, but most all because they offend You, my God, Who are all- good and deserving of all my love. I firmly intend, with your help, to sin no more and to avoid whatever leads me to sin
in step 7 the priest will speak
words of absolution: God, the Father of mercies, through the death and the Resurrection of his Son has reconciled the world to himself and sent the Holy Spirit among us for the forgiveness of sins; through the ministry of the Church may God give you pardon and peace, and I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit
