Seagulls getting into bins and spreading litter all over the streets

- Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeen Inspired have replaced normal bins in the CBD with Big Belly Bins
- These solar powered bins compact rubbish which means on average they need emptied 70% less than normal bins
- As well they have wireless technology which sends an alert when it needs emptied
- It has a closed off design which stops seagulls being able to get rubbish from inside the bin and spreading it about the streets

- The Art Gallery has undergone extensive renovations and had an extension
- The Provost Skene’s House has also undergone extensive refurbishment and converted into a museum about the city’s history and innovation as well as famous people from Aberdeen
- This has helped educate the public and spark interest in the city

- Nuart Festival is run by Aberdeen Inspired
- It is a festival for international graffiti artists that usually takes place in June each year
- Graffiti artists can create art installations on buildings
- Only non-granite walls can be painted to preserve the traditional granite buildings
- It has improved footfall in the CBD and has brightened the grey buildings especially during the winter months
