- This allows people to get better jobs that pay more money. The taxes generated can be used to improve
healthcare and education, which in turn increase life expectancy. - If people have a higher salary they can afford to buy better food, and live in a better quality environment. Those factors increase life expectancy.

- Developed countries control most of the world’s trade.
- Countries that can readily trade can import a variety of different foods, improving food security for their citizens.

- Civil war leads to many fatalities in countries
- Obviously this has an impact on life expectancy as many innocent people are targeted during conflicts and are killed or badly injured
